Human Libraries: A Conversation Across Generations
We organised 20 human libraries throughout European villages. Come see how we did it!
2 years ago we started the #MemoriesForFuture project, starting a journey that would see us organise 20 human libraries in 4 countries, collecting 90 unique stories about rural heritage. Out of that came 5 podcasts, 15 video stories, 100 mini-stories, handbooks and so much more.
So on 11 December we invite you to meet the project team and discover how we did it and how you can also get inspiration to organise a human library in your community!
When?
11th December 2024 (11.12.2024 / eleven December)
17:00 - 18:00 CET
Where?
Online (the link will be sent to registered participants)
What will happen?
You will find out about the #MemoriesForFuture project and how it happened, then we will invite you to a mini-human library online where you will meet some of the young people who organised human libraries and learn from their experiences. Also, you will have the opportunity to engage with members of the project management team to ask questions and learn from their experience as well.
Who is it for?
Youth workers, social workers, teachers, librarians working with young people in a non-formal education context and interested in the human library method;
People interested in rural heritage and using modern tools to preserve it and connect it with the younger generations;
Why should you attend?
You will learn more about how the human library method can be used;
You will discover a wide pack of tools and stories from all around Europe that you can then explore further;
You will have the opportunity to directly engage with the young people and the project management team and learn from their experiences, so you can apply it in your own projects;
The Peripheral Memories for Future project is co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme. The entire responsibility for the content of this page lies with the authors.
