Shared Memories in Jérica

A new Human Library event was organized by Europimpulse Network in collaboration with the Alto Palancia Artists Collective, RuralArte. This event featured the local women artists' exhibition "Microrrelatos de Jérica," an artistic mediation project that focuses on memory, community, and local history. The project aimed to bring art to the streets of Jérica, collecting stories from the town's residents and reproducing them artistically, so both inhabitants and visitors could enjoy them.

On Saturday, April 20th, a special gathering was held where the collective presented both a documentary and a book compiling the stories and accompanying artworks. It was an emotional and art-filled moment, with each story brought to life through narrations and visual representations. The event also featured a human library, energized by a group of young people from Europimpulse Network. During this activity, the elders of the village transformed into living books, sharing their memories and anecdotes with eager listeners.

Titles such as "Anthills," "Wine Wells," "Escafollá and the Flour Day," and "Animal Nursery" were brought to life by Amparo, Mari Carmen, Gonzalo, and José. Each story transported listeners back in time, reliving moments and traditions that form the intangible heritage of Jérica.

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated and joined us on this special day. It was a beautiful afternoon of sharing and remembering the stories and anecdotes of the town and its people, fostering a sense of community and preserving the collective memory of Jérica.
