Past and Present in Teverga: From Mining Roots to New Beginnings
Our second Human Library event unfolded in the scenic village of Teverga on April 13, set against the cozy, welcoming backdrop of Taberna Narciso. Within these tavern walls, stories wove together seamlessly, blending memories that were shared, interspersed, and sometimes forgotten. On this spring day, the tavern became a space for connecting lives and experiences, as sunlight poured through the large windows, warming the room where dialogues bloomed.
Elders from Teverga shared vivid recollections of village life, past and present. They spoke of the mines, of the resilience and solidarity that helped them persevere, and of local celebrations and beloved culinary traditions. Through personal stories, we glimpsed the history of Teverga, its struggles, and its spirit of community.
After lunch, younger voices joined the conversation. Young women from the area spoke of their current projects, unveiling their visions for Teverga’s future. This intergenerational dialogue offered a fuller picture of the village, bridging the past with the present and showcasing how Teverga continues to evolve through new ideas and enduring values.
