Echoes of Friendship: A Lithuanian Journey in Corsica

Our heritage connects us. That's the conclusion the Lithuanian team has come to after participating in a youth project in Corsica. It was an amazing one-week experience right in the heart of the island.

The view of the mountains surrounding the valley was very inspiring. Maybe that's the reason Lithuanians always choose to generate creative ideas, looking at the mountainside or even outside of l'Aria theatre, sitting on the ground under a chestnut tree. The crazy group was snacking on chestnuts all along! The amazing atmosphere has led to creating an outstanding performance about real friendship.

Five youngsters told their true friendship story that captivated the audience through singing, acting, verbal, and non-verbal communication. We see how new members join the group in the church choir, how the songs of their parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents connect them and build their relationships.

We also experience the longing when, one by one, the youth leaves their little hometown and friends to live their own lives in big cities. Is that it? Just missing each other and moving on? Not at all. The tradition of going back to the families during various traditional celebrations brings back friends. In a touching moment, we see them singing old Christmas songs in the church. That connects them. From that magic moment, it's easy to understand that there is no way these young people could ever forget each other. That is the real beauty of true friendship.
